A Star on the Boston Music Scene

Athene Wilson is a three time Boston Urban Music Award winner. She is a consummate professional who has performs at many private and public events for a variety of clients and venues including clubs (Slade’s and Sculler’s), festivals (the Cape Cod Jazz Festival), for corporate and organizational events (Dimock Health Center’s Steppin’ Out, the Middlesex Links, State Street’s Black Professional Group) and others.  Athene regularly hosts the Sunday Gospel Brunch at Darryl's Corner Bar and Kitchen in Boston.

Her first CD, “It’s About Time”, has gained national recognition and international airplay.  Produced by Felix Mwangi of 12th Note Productions, it’s a dynamic collection that showcases her broad array of musical styles.

Often asked about who has influenced her musically, Athene graciously mentions Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald. “I have a world of musical tastes and my voice can adapt to many musical styles.

While I appreciate the talent of these and other artists, I work very hard at being myself.”
